Marcos net satisfaction rating hits ‘neutral’ in latest SWS survey

Public satisfaction with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has moved into “neutral” territory, according to the latest nationwide survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The survey, conducted in late 2024, revealed that 48 percent of adult Filipinos are satisfied with the President’s performance, while 35 percent are dissatisfied. This results in a net satisfaction rating of +13, which the SWS classifies as “neutral.”

The latest figures represent a significant 13-point decline from the +26 “moderate” rating the President received in the previous quarter.

This downward trend marks the lowest satisfaction score for the administration since it took office in June 2022.

The decline was driven by double-digit drops across several key regions. In Metro Manila, the President’s net satisfaction fell by 17 points, sliding from +22 to +5.

Balance Luzon saw a 16-point decrease, while the Visayas recorded a 14-point drop. In Mindanao, the President’s rating remained “neutral” but saw a smaller decline of 3 points.

Socioeconomic data also showed a cooling of support among the poorest demographics. Net satisfaction among Class E respondents fell 19 points, moving from +29 to +10. Similar declines were noted among Class D, which dropped from +24 to +12.

Despite the overall dip, the President maintained a “moderate” rating among college graduates, though even that demographic saw a 12-point decrease compared to the previous survey period.

The SWS survey was conducted from December 8 to 11 using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide.

The poll has a sampling error margin of ±3% for national percentages and ±6% for regional breakdowns.
