President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday led the distribution of rice assistance, met with government scholars, and witnessed the turnover of Php 102.2 million in funds to more than 500 barangays in Tarlac.
The President distributed 10-kilogram rice packs under the Local Government Support Fund-Bagong Pilipinas Rice Program and met with 2,555 beneficiaries of the Bagong Pilipinas Presidential Scholars program.
He also oversaw the release of Php 102.2 million from the Socio-Civic Projects Fund to 511 barangays through the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program.
Marcos urged the scholars to make full use of the assistance and remain focused on their studies.
“Basta’t gamitin ninyo, mapakinabangan sana ninyo ang aming kaunting tulong sa inyo at gamitin ninyo nang mabuti. Mag-aral kayo nang mabuti. Magtrabaho kayo nang mabuti. Work hard. Study hard,” he said.
He told the students that education and knowledge were among the most valuable investments they could acquire, saying these could help them throughout their lives.
According to Marcos, the programs were designed to strengthen food security, support local governments, and widen access to education.
The activities were part of the administration’s continuing rollout of programs highlighted in the President’s 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA).
