President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Saturday led the “Balik Sigla, Bigay Saya 2025 Nationwide Gift-Giving” program at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañan Palace, celebrating the Christmas season with thousands of Filipino children.
Joined by First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and their son, William Vincent Araneta Marcos, the President said the country’s “greatest treasure” lies in its children, whom he described as the future of the nation.
Marcos said the presence of children transforms Malacañang from a place of serious work into a space filled with joy, warmth, and the true spirit of Christmas.
He added that their smiles remind public officials of the purpose of their service and strengthen their resolve to continue working for the country.
“Tumitibay at lumalakas ang loob namin kapag nakikita namin kayo,” the President told the children, saying their joy motivates government workers to do better.
He also reflected on how their laughter, dancing, and performances brought back memories of his own childhood Christmases.
Marcos said the celebration was designed to give children a festive experience and to recognize how they bring happiness to those around them.
“Merry Christmas sa inyong lahat, at salamat sa pagdala ninyo ng saya dito,” he said as the grounds filled with children enjoying the holiday activities.
More than 19,000 children nationwide received gifts through this year’s initiative, which was joined virtually by DepEd schools and DSWD satellite centers via Zoom.
The event was also attended by cabinet officials, including Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, who expressed support for the administration’s efforts to uplift Filipino youth and families this Christmas season.
