MANILA – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. challenged Vice President Sara Duterte to substantiate her allegations that his administration was behind efforts to remove her from office, questioning the basis of her accusations.
During the “Kapihan with the Media” press conference in Singapore on Sunday, October 11, 2026, Marcos dismissed the allegations and demanded evidence from the Vice President.
“Prove it! You’re saying that based on what?” Marcos said.
The President’s remarks came after Duterte accused the administration of orchestrating the emergence of allegations made by dismissed police officer Rodulfo Gracioso Jr. concerning supposed cash deliveries to members of the Duterte family.
Gracioso earlier claimed that he delivered suitcases allegedly containing large sums of money to Vice President Duterte, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte.
The allegations have become another point of contention between the Marcos administration and the Duterte family amid the ongoing impeachment proceedings against the Vice President.
Duterte has maintained that the accusations against her are politically motivated and part of an alleged effort to force her out of office.
Marcos, however, challenged her to present concrete evidence linking his administration to the accusations rather than making unsupported claims.
The President’s response underscored the continuing political tensions between the country’s two highest elected officials.
The allegations involving the supposed cash deliveries remain disputed, and no conclusive finding establishing the claims or the administration’s alleged involvement has been presented in the supplied statements.
