President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has approved the Tatak Pinoy Strategy (TPS) — a national initiative aimed at strengthening Philippine industries, expanding local production, and enhancing the global competitiveness of Filipino products and services.
Under Memorandum Circular No. 104, all national government agencies, government-owned or -controlled corporations, and local government units are directed to support the implementation of the strategy.
Developed by the Tatak Pinoy Council, led by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in collaboration with the private sector, research institutions, and other stakeholders, the TPS builds on Republic Act No. 11981 or the Tatak Pinoy (Proudly Filipino) Act. The law seeks to promote and support the production of diverse, high-quality, and globally competitive Philippine-made goods and services.
According to the DTI, the strategy was formulated through an inclusive and evidence-based process to expand and diversify the productive capacity of local enterprises — helping them move up the value chain and compete in the global market.
To ensure cohesive execution, the Tatak Pinoy Council will submit action plans at the national, provincial, city, and municipal levels for the President’s approval.
The circular also tasks the DTI, in coordination with the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), to distribute the official copy of the strategy to all concerned government offices and publish it online through the DTI’s website and other official platforms.
