Malacañan calls VP Sara’s kill order an “active threat”

The Presidential Communications Office, in a statement on Saturday afternoon, has deemed Vice President Sara Duterte’s statement that she has contracted the killing of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez, an “active threat”.

“Acting on the Vice President’s clear and unequivocal statement that she had contracted an assassin to kill the President if an alleged plot against her succeeds, the Executive Secretary has referred this active threat to the Presidential Security Command for immediate proper action. Any threat to the life of the President must always be taken seriously, more so that this threat has been publicly revealed in clear and certain terms, “the statement from Malacañan read.

In an online press briefing early Saturday, Vice President Sara said she had already contracted a hitman to kill President Marcos Jr., the First Lady  and Speaker Martin Romualdez, if she is assassinated first.

“Wag kang mag-alala sa security ko kasi may kinausap na ako na tao. Sinabi ko sa kanya, ‘pag pinatay ako, patayin mo si BBM, si Liza Araneta, at si Martin Romualdez. No joke. No joke.” (Don’t worry about my security.  I have talked to someone.  I told him, if they kill me, kill BBM, Liza Araneta, and Martin Romualdez), she told the media.

Duterte said her directive to the alleged hitman she had contracted to kill the First Couple and House of Representatives Speaker Martin Romualdez is “no joke.”
