One gate at Magat Dam in Isabela remained open on Monday morning to release water, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.
As of 8:00 a.m., the gate was opened to 2 meters, allowing the release of 573.89 cubic meters per second.
The reservoir’s water level stood at 190.94 meters, a drop from Sunday’s 191.62 meters. The normal high water level for the dam is 193 meters.
In contrast, gates at Ambuklao and Binga Dams in Benguet were closed as of Sunday, January 5.
Ambuklao’s reservoir level slightly rose to 751.39 meters, up from 751.28 meters, still below its normal high level of 752 meters.
Binga Dam’s water level decreased slightly to 574.51 meters from 574.53 meters, just under its 575-meter normal high level.
PAGASA forecasts rain across parts of the country on Monday due to the northeast monsoon (amihan), shear line, and Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
