The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched AI-powered Mobile Command Centers along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) to help ensure safer and smoother travel during the holiday season.
LTO said the deployment is part of its continued efforts, including the presence of officers and facilities along Metro Manila roads, NLEX, and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao said the command centers can monitor passing vehicles using CCTV footage.
The centers can cross-check vehicle registration, active cases or alerts, and detect unauthorized or illegal modifications through the LTO database.
“Layunin nitong umagapay sa mga motorista at biyaherong patungo sa mga lalawigan ng Central at Northern Luzon sa kasagsagan ng Kapaskuhan at pagdiriwang ng Bagong Taon,” Lacanilao said.
The deployment on NLEX follows a previous rollout of similar AI-powered Mobile Command Centers along SLEX.
The initiative aims to support motorists and travelers heading to Central and Northern Luzon during the peak of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
