The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has ordered the one-year suspension of three transport network companies (TNCs) for violating franchise conditions, as part of the government’s push to improve the country’s public transportation system under President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.

Acting under the guidance of Department of Transportation Secretary Giovanni “Banoy” Z. Lopez, the LTFRB said the suspension was imposed after the companies failed to comply with basic regulatory requirements and ignored official notices from the agency.

LTFRB Chairperson Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the decision came after the companies did not respond to separate show cause orders issued against them for noncompliance with rules governing ride-hailing services.

The suspended firms are Leggo Information Technology Solutions, Get Express Global Corporation, and Ipara Technology and Solutions, Inc.

“They were given every chance to respond and explain the violations they committed but they failed to do so. This is what happens when you ignore or disregard legal notices from the LTFRB—you will suffer the consequences of your action,” Mendoza said.

The violation cited was the absence of active, internet-based digital technology required to properly serve partners and clients—an essential component of authorized transport network operations.

According to the LTFRB, no response was received from any of the three companies despite multiple notices, prompting the agency to order the suspension of their operations for at least one year.

Mendoza stressed that the action falls squarely within the LTFRB’s mandate to regulate public land transportation services and enforce compliance with its rules, including the power to suspend or cancel authorizations to protect the riding public.

He also urged commuters and applicants for ride-hailing services to avoid transacting with the suspended companies while the order remains in effect.

“Appropriate advisories have already been issued to inform the public of the LTFRB decision. The public is likewise advised to exercise caution and to verify the regulatory status of service providers before engaging their services,” Mendoza said.

The LTFRB chair further reminded all TNCs and their partners to strictly comply with existing rules and regulations to ensure smooth, reliable, and lawful operations of ride-hailing services nationwide.
