The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board and Manuel L. Quezon University School of Law signed an agreement Monday to provide law students with practical experience in legal work at the transport regulatory agency.

The memorandum of agreement established a partnership allowing MLQU law student externs to participate in activities related to their legal studies at the LTFRB.

The students will perform assigned legal work under appropriate guidance and supervision as part of their practical training.

LTFRB Acting Chairman Greg Pua Jr. signed the agreement alongside Executive Director John Paul Allen Victa and Legal Division Chief Ralph Aidrin Baguio.

MLQU School of Law was represented by Dean Jose Perpetuo “Juju” Lotilla and Clinical Legal Education Program Director Galahad Richard Pe Benito.

The partnership is intended to give participating students exposure to the application of law within a government regulatory agency.

The externship also provides students an opportunity to gain experience in legal processes related to the regulation of public transportation.

The LTFRB said the agreement forms part of efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships while supporting legal education and public service.
