LPA to bring widespread rain over Visayas, Mindanao

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast widespread rain across parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Monday due to a low‑pressure area (LPA).

The weather bureau said the LPA, last detected hundreds of kilometers east of Mindanao, will trigger scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Central and Eastern Visayas, Caraga, the Davao Region, and Siquijor.

PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas may lead to flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying and vulnerable terrain.

Elsewhere in the country, the easterlies will continue to bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Winds are expected to remain light to moderate, with seas ranging from slight to moderate.
