Lola Amour calls out unauthorized use of “Raining in Manila” in campaign jingles

Lola Amour has spoken out against political campaigns using their hit song “Raining in Manila” without permission.

On X (formerly Twitter), the band clarified that they did not authorize any campaign jingles featuring their song. “Btw guys, this happened before and I guess it’s happening again: All of the campaign jingles using our songs do not have our consent. Vote wisely,” they wrote.

This statement came after a user expressed frustration over hearing the song repeatedly in campaign ads.

Released in 2024, “Raining in Manila” quickly became a hit, earning recognition from international artists like Enhypen’s Jake and GOT7’s Bambam. Even comedian Michael V. created a parody titled “Waiting Here sa Pila,” about people waiting in long coffee shop lines.
