LG Electronics is set to introduce its 2026 LG gram lineup at CES 2026, marking the next chapter in its decade-long push to redefine what ultra-portable laptops can be. The new generation centers on a breakthrough material called Aerominum, developed by LG to deliver a lighter yet more resilient chassis, while also bringing a refined metallic aesthetic that signals a clear move upmarket.

Alongside the design evolution, the 2026 LG gram places a strong emphasis on productivity, integrating advanced dual AI capabilities that blend on-device intelligence with cloud-based AI for seamless work and creativity anywhere.

Aerominum represents a major leap in the LG gram’s design philosophy. Engineered to reduce weight without sacrificing strength, the material reinforces structural integrity while improving scratch resistance and meeting military-grade durability standards.

Its aeroplate structure and atelier-style brushed finish give the laptop a premium metallic look that feels substantial yet remains true to the gram identity of extreme portability. The result is a chassis built to endure daily travel and long-term use, without adding unnecessary bulk.

Productivity takes a significant step forward with the introduction of dual AI across select 2026 LG gram models. These laptops support Microsoft Copilot+ PC alongside LG’s gram chat On-Device AI, powered by the upgraded EXAONE 3.5 small language model. This enables fast, private AI assistance even when offline, while cloud-based AI expands capabilities when connected.

Paired with the latest processors and performance optimizations, the new LG gram models are designed to handle demanding multitasking, AI-assisted workflows, and content creation with ease.

Mobility is further enhanced through expanded connectivity and security features. An upgraded gram Link allows seamless file sharing, screen mirroring, and content transfer not only across Android and iOS devices, but also with webOS-based LG products such as TVs, monitors, and projectors.

By functioning as a universal hub across these major ecosystems, gram Link removes long-standing OS barriers and enables a more unified digital workflow. On the security front, LG ThinQ provides remote lock and data wipe capabilities, giving users added peace of mind if their device is lost.

Within the lineup, the LG gram Pro 17 stands out by delivering the performance of a 17-inch RTX laptop in a form factor comparable to many 16-inch models. Its 17-inch WQXGA display supports both productivity and immersive viewing, while the inclusion of an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 memory brings the power needed for graphics-intensive tasks, creative work, and gaming, without the traditional weight penalty of high-performance machines.

Meanwhile, the LG gram Pro 16 positions itself as the lightest 16-inch laptop in its class to offer both on-device and cloud-based AI. Its 16-inch WQXGA+ OLED display delivers sharp detail and rich contrast for professional and creative use, while the latest Intel Core Ultra processors ensure responsive multitasking and smooth everyday performance in a highly portable design.

“The 2026 LG gram represents a new milestone in our decade-long pursuit of ultimate portability. With Aerominum, we have successfully solved the paradox of weight versus durability, creating a premium metallic look that is both incredibly light and exceptionally durable,” said Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company.

“By fusing this breakthrough material with our advanced dual AI and security solutions, our highly intelligent and extremely portable new laptops empower users to work, create and connect seamlessly wherever they are,” Lee added.
