Lawmaker Offers ₱100K Reward for Information on Slovak Tourist’s Death in Boracay

Aklan Second District Rep. Teodorico Haresco Jr. has offered a ₱100,000 cash reward for any information leading to the identification of those responsible for the death of 23-year-old Slovak tourist Michaela Mickova in Boracay.

Haresco met with local law enforcement officials over the weekend to discuss updates on the investigation. So far, two persons of interest are in police custody, while nine witnesses have provided statements.

“We must act swiftly and decisively to address this issue and restore public trust. We need to reassure tourists that Boracay is a safe place,” Haresco said, vowing to work with local and national authorities to prevent similar incidents.

Mickova was found dead in an abandoned chapel, two days after being reported missing. Police reports indicate that she suffered blunt force trauma to the head and appeared to have been sexually abused.

Despite the incident, Western Visayas police maintain that Boracay remains a safe destination for tourists, as investigations continue.
