YANGON – Myanmar authorities seized 4,440 kg of ICE (methamphetamine), 1,100 kg of ketamine, four million stimulant tablets, and 14 kg of heroin powder, in Yangon region, the state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television reported, yesterday.
The narcotics were confiscated, and a total of 16 suspects connected to the case were arrested, between Sept 5 and 7, in Shwepyitha, North Okkalapa, and Thaketa townships, in Yangon region, the report said.
The narcotics, which came from Shan state, were intended to be trafficked to Malaysia, it added.
The suspects have been charged under the country’s laws, and further investigations are ongoing.– NNN-MNA
