Lalamove accelerates European expansion with Germany launch, eyes wider EMEA growth

Three vehicles branded with Lalamove logos, including a large delivery van, a compact car, and a bicycle, set against an orange background with a sunset and a city skyline, announcing 'Lalamove Arrives in Germany'.

Lalamove has officially entered Germany, using Berlin as the launchpad for its ambitious expansion across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), as the Hong Kong-founded logistics platform seeks to capitalize on growing demand for fast, flexible, and technology-driven delivery services.

The move marks a major milestone for Lalamove, which has built a strong presence across Asia and the Americas since its founding in 2013. With Germany now becoming its newest market, the company is positioning itself to serve one of Europe’s largest economies while strengthening its footprint across the broader EMEA region.

Starting operations in the Berlin metropolitan area, Lalamove is introducing its on-demand delivery platform to businesses and consumers looking for a faster and more affordable alternative to traditional logistics services. The company is particularly targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), a sector that forms the backbone of the German economy.

According to Lalamove, Germany’s more than 3.4 million SMEs continue to face logistics challenges, including limited access to affordable on-demand delivery services, rigid contractual arrangements, and insufficient real-time tracking capabilities. Its platform is designed to address these concerns by allowing businesses to book deliveries instantly or schedule them up to 30 days in advance without maintaining their own fleet.

The service operates around the clock, enabling companies to manage both routine deliveries and urgent requests. Businesses can also consolidate multiple deliveries into a single trip, with the platform supporting up to 20 drop-off locations per booking, helping reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.

Lalamove said its technology-driven model is already gaining traction among a diverse range of Berlin-based businesses, including retailers, catering companies, universities, research institutions, and specialty service providers.

One local flower shop, for example, has reportedly shifted from managing deliveries internally to using Lalamove’s driver network, allowing employees to focus on customer service while maintaining reliable delivery operations during peak seasons such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Customers can track deliveries in real time through GPS monitoring and access live customer support, providing greater transparency throughout the delivery process.

Powering the company’s operations in Germany is a growing network of driver partners who enjoy flexible work arrangements, enabling them to choose their schedules and delivery assignments. Lalamove said this model not only creates additional earning opportunities for drivers but also ensures businesses have access to a dependable logistics network when demand surges.

“Germany is home to more than 3.4 million SMEs, and they need logistics that can scale with the realities of day-to-day operations,” said Paul Loo, Chief Operating Officer of Lalamove.

“Launching in Berlin is an important first step in building our German presence, bringing a flexible, affordable on-demand delivery option that helps businesses move goods and documents quickly, manage peak periods more efficiently, and maintain visibility from pick-up to drop-off.”

Loo added that the company is preparing for further expansion across Germany as demand grows.

Djon Nacario, Managing Director of Lalamove Philippines, said the German launch reflects the increasing global demand for agile logistics solutions that help businesses remain competitive in rapidly evolving markets.

“Across markets, we’ve seen how SMEs increasingly rely on fast and reliable logistics partners to stay competitive and respond to changing customer expectations,” Nacario said.

He noted that the company’s success in markets such as the Philippines has demonstrated how technology-enabled logistics can support business growth, improve efficiency, and strengthen local economies.

With Berlin now serving as its European gateway, Lalamove plans to steadily expand its services across Germany and eventually into additional EMEA markets, laying the groundwork for a broader regional logistics network that supports both businesses and driver partners.

The expansion underscores the company’s long-term strategy of becoming a leading global player in on-demand logistics while continuing to leverage operational expertise developed in fast-growing markets such as the Philippines.
