The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported an ash emission from Kanlaon Volcano on Monday afternoon.

According to the agency, the emission took place at around 1:10 p.m. and persisted for about three minutes.

The activity produced grayish plumes that rose roughly 150 meters above the summit crater before drifting toward the southwest.

Monitoring instruments, including an IP camera at the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory in Canlaon City, recorded the event.

State volcanologists noted that the volcano remains under Alert Level 2, indicating ongoing unrest.

Authorities reiterated that entry into the four-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone and flights near the volcano continue to be prohibited for safety reasons.
