A month after addressing rumors about her marriage, Jervi “KaladKaren” Wrightson shared a happy update—she and husband Luke Wrightson welcomed a new pet puppy, Pony.
On March 21, the actress and TV host introduced Pony Wrightson on Instagram, calling the puppy the “new member of our little family.” She also tagged the pup’s social media account, which already has multiple posts, including an adorable snap of Pony resting on her purse with the caption, “My crazy mommy put me in her purse! 😜” Earlier this year, online speculation about KaladKaren’s relationship surfaced after a misinterpreted TikTok video led netizens to believe she had separated from Luke. She later clarified the issue on TV5’s Frontline Pilipinas, assuring fans that they are still happily married.
“Lilinawin ko lamang po yung issue tungkol sa amin ni Luke. You know, our marriage is not perfect. Katulad ng ibang couples, siyempre may misunderstandings, merong challenges,” she explained. “Hindi rin po nakakatulong na minsan hindi kami magkasama because Luke is working abroad. For 13 years, sinubok na po kami ng panahon. Araw-araw pinipili po namin mahalin ang isa’t-isa, so kami pa rin po. We’re still together. Wala po kaming problema ni Luke. Masaya po kaming mag-asawa.”
She also reminded people to be more cautious about the information they consume:
“We have to be responsible with the content we receive and consume. ‘Yung mga napapanood natin online, mag-ingat po tayo sa fake news, and of course, let’s mind our own business.” KaladKaren, one of the country’s most prominent transgender actresses and LGBTQIA+ rights advocates, married Luke in September 2023 in an intimate ceremony in Scarborough, United Kingdom, after over a decade of dating and a four-year engagement.
She also made history as the first transgender woman to win Best Supporting Actress at the 2023 Summer Metro Manila Film Festival for her role in Here Comes the Groom.
