Actress and singer Kakai Bautista opened up on Instagram about the “sad reality” in the entertainment industry, saying that some performers earn more despite lacking professionalism or singing off-key.
Kakai, who has been in showbiz for over two decades, shared a glimpse of her rehearsal routine, emphasizing how she always prepares for every event.
“Errands and dance rehearsal day. Sinisigurado ko talagang may practice at review day or choreo ang bawat upcoming performance ko sa events. I always plan ahead with songs, outfits and minsan curating every medley na ipapagawa,” she wrote.
The singer-actress then reflected on what she observed in the industry, expressing her frustration over the lack of standards in some performances.
“REAL TALK: napapaisip nalang ako minsan dito sa industriyang ito, Mas malaki ang bayad sa mga sintunado walang professionalism sa trabaho. VERY SAD REALITY,” she said.
Despite this, Kakai remains committed to giving her best, a work ethic she attributes to her theater background.
“Sige nalang kase I was trained to DO my 200% all the time and keep showing UP. Death nga lang ang excuse. Ayan ang disiplinang nakuha ko sa mga theater mentors ko. THANK GOD,” she added.
Kakai also recently shared that she’s enjoying her single life, focusing on herself and her peace of mind.
“Choice ko talaga kasi para sa akin, ngayon ko lang nai-enjoy ‘yung time ko for myself. Ngayon ko nai-enjoy ang pera ko, ngayon ko nai-enjoy ‘yung buhay ko na medyo kalmado na lahat, nakakaluwag na,” she said.
Even after years in the industry, Kakai continues to uphold professionalism and passion in her craft — a standard she believes every artist should live by.
