K-drama stars Jung Ho Yeon and Lee Dong Hwi have ended their relationship after nearly nine years together.
Their respective agencies confirmed the breakup to multiple outlets, but the reason behind the split was not immediately disclosed.
“It is true that the two have broken up. They decided to remain good colleagues,” Lee Dong Hwi’s agency, Company On, said in a statement on November 26.
“Lee Dong-hwi and Jung Ho-yeon have decided to return to being good colleagues,” added Jung Ho Yeon’s agency, Saram Entertainment, on the same day.
The couple began dating in 2015 and publicly confirmed their relationship in 2016.
Jung Ho-Yeon, 30, gained international fame for her portrayal of Kang Sae Byeok in Netflix’s “Squid Game”. She won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series and received an Emmy nomination for her role.
Meanwhile, Lee Dong Hwi, 39, is best known for his role as Ryu Dong Ryong in the hit series “Reply 1988”. He has also appeared in popular TV productions such as “Big Bet” and “Chief Detective 1958”, as well as films like “The Beauty Inside”, “Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman”, and “The Call”.
