The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) has entered into a partnership with fintech lender JuanHand to strengthen efforts against online scams targeting borrowers.

The collaboration centers on public education, aiming to help Filipinos recognize fraudulent schemes and distinguish legitimate digital lending platforms from predatory operators.

Under the agreement, the two sides will share information and roll out training activities, including workshops and awareness campaigns focused on emerging cyber threats in the financial sector.

The initiative also seeks to encourage responsible borrowing by equipping consumers with practical knowledge on safe online transactions and proper channels for reporting suspicious activities.

JuanHand President and Chief Executive Officer Francisco Roberto D.C. Mauricio said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to protecting users in the growing digital lending space.

He added that coordinated efforts between the private sector and law enforcement are key to promoting financial inclusion while minimizing risks posed by scammers.

PNP-ACG, the police unit tasked with addressing cyber-related offenses, said the partnership highlights the need for collective action to safeguard the public as online financial services continue to expand.
