Converge rookie Juan Gomez de Liano continues to take the PBA by storm. The young guard notched his second career triple-double last week, powering the FiberXers to consecutive victories in the Season 50 Philippine Cup.

After making history in his debut on October 11 with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists in a 129-92 blowout win over Titan, Gomez de Liano followed it up 11 days later with another stellar showing — a 17-10-12 line in Converge’s 125-108 rout of Terrafirma.

He wasn’t done yet. The No. 2 overall pick sustained his all-around brilliance with 19 points and 12 rebounds in a 128-114 triumph over Phoenix, helping the FiberXers seize a share of the top spot at 3-1.

For his outstanding performances, Gomez de Liano was named the PBA Press Corps Player of the Week for October 22–26, 2025 — his second such honor of the young season, having first earned it during the league’s opening week (October 5–12).

Averaging 18 points on 50-percent shooting, along with 12 assists, seven rebounds, and two steals across two games, Gomez de Liano edged NLEX’s Kevin Alas, teammate Alec Stockton, and Rain or Shine’s Adrian Nocum for the award.

With two citations under his belt, the explosive guard now leads the early race for the PBA Press Corps Order of Merit — the season-long award given to the player who collects the most weekly honors.
