Jordanian air defenses intercepted and destroyed three Iranian missiles that entered the kingdom’s airspace on Friday, according to the state-run Petra news agency.
A source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said the missiles had been directed toward Jordanian territory.
The military said the projectiles were brought down under established defensive and operational procedures.
Authorities said the action was taken to protect Jordan’s sovereignty, secure its airspace and ensure the safety of its population.
No injuries or property damage were reported following the interceptions.
The incident unfolded after the United States launched another round of strikes against Iran.
The attack marked the sixth consecutive night of US military operations targeting Iranian sites.
Tensions remained high over the Strait of Hormuz as Washington and Tehran continued exchanging attacks despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the conflict and paving the way for a lasting peace agreement.
