Jonah Sabete made a strong comeback for Petro Gazz, helping the Angels secure a 25-19, 25-13, 28-26 victory over Zus Coffee in the PVL All-Filipino Conference Quarterfinals on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Sidelined for two months due to injury, Sabete contributed 11 points, supporting Brooke Van Sickle and Myla Pablo in pushing the series to a decisive Game 3.
“Actually, I’m happy na nakabalik pa rin ako pero ‘yung pressure andoon din talaga,” she admitted. “Ang daming nagtitiwala sa akin like sa defense and pasa.”
Sabete also praised her teammates’ resilience after their previous quarterfinal exit in the Reinforced Conference. “Happy na kahit wala ako, andoon pa rin ‘yung aggressiveness ng team na makaangat talaga.”
Petro Gazz will fight for a semifinal berth against Zus Coffee in a winner-take-all match on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
