In celebration of Labor Day, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced that job fairs are being held across 69 locations nationwide, running until May 2. The initiative aims to connect thousands of Filipinos with employment opportunities right in their own regions.

Speaking at the 123rd Labor Day celebration held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, President Marcos emphasized the government’s commitment not just to creating jobs, but also to making them more accessible.

“We’re not only opening up more opportunities—we’re bringing those opportunities closer to our people through job fairs like this,” he said.

These simultaneous job fairs are being conducted in major regions including Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Region.

Since July 2022, over 4,000 job fairs have been held nationwide. According to the President, more than one million job seekers have participated, with approximately 170,000 landing jobs on the spot.

To streamline the process, each job fair features a one-stop shop where applicants can conveniently secure pre-employment requirements from government agencies—making the hiring experience faster and more organized.

Marcos also highlighted efforts to equip young Filipinos with practical skills through the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track in senior high schools. This initiative ensures that graduates leave with certification from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), increasing their chances of employment.

Further boosting the country’s workforce readiness, the government rolled out a new micro-credentialing system in March 2025. This allows workers to complete short training modules and earn certifications along the way—even if they haven’t finished an entire course.

“They can stack these certifications to build their skills, leading to better job opportunities,” said Marcos. “This modern training approach is designed to meet the real demands of today’s industries—ensuring our trainees are job-ready the moment they complete their programs.”
