Izabelle Camcam of Muntinlupa City delivered a stellar performance at the PPS-PEPP Governor’s Cup National Tennis Championships, clinching four titles at the DAO Sports Complex in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur last Sunday.
Camcam, the tournament’s top seed, ruled the girls’ singles events by edging out No. 2 seed Zaia Gumbao in both the 14-and-under and 16-and-under finals. She secured the U14 crown with a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6(5) win, then outlasted Gumbao again in the U16 division, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(4).
She also dominated in the doubles events. Partnering with Keuzaifah Ordiz, Camcam swept Micah Abanto and Germaine Rizon, 8-0, in the U14 doubles final. Later, she teamed up with Juliana Tenepre to capture the U18 doubles title with an 8-3 victory over the duo of Gumbao and Sanschena Francisco.
In the boys’ division, top-seeded Tyrone Caro claimed the U12 singles title with a 6-3, 6-2 win against Dioford Cabatingan. However, Caro fell short in the U14 final, losing to No. 1 seed Prince Centino, 6-4, 3-6, 1-6.

- Girls U18: Juliana Tenepre def. Sanschena Francisco, 6-2, 6-4
- Boys U18: Al Rashid Arasad def. Paul Albano (walkover)
- Boys U16: Kennedy Gumera def. Lemmar Sugue, 6-2, 6-1
- Girls U12: Frances Rigodon def. Bless Labadisos, 3-6, 6-4, 6-0
- Unisex U10: Francis Dadan def. Shaun Natividad, 5-3, 2-4, 10-7
In doubles action:
- Boys U14: Vanizer Acabo and Prince Centino def. Andrei Buhat and Dioford Cabatingan, 8-2
- Boys U18: Jiden Donaire and Lance Fuentes def. Adrian Abanto and Jayson Pañares, 8-0
Camcam’s impressive all-around showing underscored her status as one of the brightest young stars in Philippine junior tennis.
