ISTANBUL – An Israeli drone strike killed a Palestinian man and injured another after targeting a tent housing displaced civilians in central Gaza early Thursday, according to medical sources.
Medical personnel at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital told Anadolu Agency that an Israeli drone fired two missiles at the tent located west of Al-Zawayda.
Local sources identified the fatality as Abd Walid Matar.
The strike was among several reported Israeli military operations across the Gaza Strip despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025.
In Gaza City, Israeli artillery reportedly targeted eastern neighborhoods, while Israeli naval vessels opened fire toward the coastline.
A separate drone strike was also reported in the city’s Al-Karama neighborhood.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces conducted a demolition operation east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
The latest incidents followed attacks on Tuesday that left three Palestinians dead, including individuals who succumbed to injuries sustained in earlier strikes.
Among the fatalities was a young girl killed when an Israeli drone struck a displacement tent near Gaza Municipality Park. Several other people were reportedly wounded in the attack.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that Israeli actions it classified as ceasefire violations have resulted in 1,599 Palestinian deaths and 5,774 injuries since the agreement took effect.
The ministry also said the overall death toll from Israeli military operations in Gaza since October 8, 2023, has exceeded 74,000, with more than 174,000 people injured.
The figures were provided by Gaza health authorities and have not been independently verified in this report.
The prolonged conflict has also caused extensive damage across the territory, with approximately 90 percent of civilian infrastructure reportedly affected.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, reports of airstrikes, artillery fire and other military operations continue to raise concerns over civilian safety and the durability of the truce.
Israeli authorities had not provided a response to the specific incidents described in the Anadolu report.
