Talks between Iran and the United States show signs of progress, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said, highlighting the importance of dialogue in resolving disputes peacefully.

In a post on the social media platform X, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran’s nuclear policy is guided by the Non-Proliferation Treaty and its internationally recognized rights.

The president added that Iran responds to mutual respect but rejects threats or coercion in international dealings.

The diplomatic engagement marked a resumption of indirect nuclear talks on Friday, following weeks of heightened tensions, including warnings of potential US military action.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the discussions as a constructive beginning, noting that follow-up meetings could take place in Muscat, Oman, once trust is restored.

Araghchi also clarified that Iran’s missile program remains outside the scope of negotiations, stating it is strictly a defensive measure.

The renewed dialogue reflects regional efforts to ease tensions and create a framework for ongoing diplomatic communication between the two countries.
