InLife names Atty. Victor P. Lazatin as new independent trustee

Insular Life (InLife), the country’s largest Filipino-owned life insurance company, has appointed Atty. Victor P. Lazatin as its newest Independent Trustee. He replaces Atty. Francisco Ed. Lim, who recently stepped down to assume his new role as Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

A veteran in the legal field, Atty. Lazatin currently serves as Senior Legal Counsel at the Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz Law Offices (ACCRA), where he has built a distinguished career in civil and commercial litigation, as well as domestic and international arbitration.

He holds accreditations from leading arbitration bodies, including the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission (CIAC), Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, and internationally from arbitration centers in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.

Aguas. “His distinguished career, ethical leadership, and expertise in governance and dispute resolution will strengthen our commitment to serving Filipinos with integrity and purpose.”

In addition to his legal practice, Atty. Lazatin is active in several prestigious professional groups such as the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, ASEAN Law Association, Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Philippine Bar Association, and the Philippine Council of the International Chamber of Commerce.

Atty. Lazatin holds both a BA in Economics and a Bachelor of Laws, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines, where he placed third in the 1972 Bar Examinations. He later earned a Master of Law
