In a candid sit-down with Boy Abunda, Iñigo Pascual revisited a chapter from his early showbiz years—his connection with fellow artist Maris Racal. The conversation, laced with nostalgia, shed light on the long-swirling rumors that once surrounded the beloved “MarNigo” tandem. Their chemistry onscreen and genuine closeness offscreen sparked curiosity among fans, many of whom wondered if their bond extended beyond friendship.

Addressing the question that had lingered for years, Iñigo didn’t dodge the spotlight. “Mayroon kaming pagkakaintindihan ni Maris noon na sa amin lamang (Maris and I had an understanding then that was just between the two of us),” he confessed, revealing a quiet understanding between the two that, while never officially labeled, held meaning beyond casual friendship. It wasn’t a typical romance, but it was something real—private, personal, and mutual.

Their story may not have ended in a traditional relationship, but there were no bitter endings either. Iñigo made it clear that respect and goodwill remain between him and Maris. “Sobrang okay kami (We’re really okay) and that’s what matters to me,” he said, emphasizing that their past connection hasn’t soured their present. The former love team has simply evolved, each carving their own paths while holding on to shared memories with warmth.

Beyond revisiting his past, Iñigo opened up about where his heart lies today. At 26, he’s no longer entangled in love stories—fictional or otherwise. “Ngayon, walang nagmamay-ari ng puso ko kundi ang mama, papa, at lolo ko (These days, my heart belongs to no one but my mom, dad, and grandfather),” he stated with quiet pride, spotlighting the deep bond he shares with his family. In this chapter of his life, they remain his emotional anchors.

The actor-singer also clarified that he’s not in pursuit of romance. With honesty, he admitted to navigating an early quarter-life shift. Self-growth, not love, is his current mission—choosing career milestones over couple goals.

As for what’s next, Iñigo is preparing for a major screen return in Fatherland, directed by Joel Lamangan. He’ll be sharing the spotlight with Allen Dizon, Richard Yap, and Kazel Kinouchi. While his romantic past may remain quietly tucked away, his professional journey is very much on display—steadily moving forward, with purpose and passion.
