India has secured the top spot as the country with the highest number of sugar daddies in Asia, according to a luxury dating site Seeking Arrangement report. Surprisingly, the Philippines didn’t even reach the top 10.
With a staggering 338,000 sugar daddies, India dominates the list, far surpassing any other country in the region. The term “sugar daddy” refers to wealthy, often older men who provide financial support, gifts, or other benefits in exchange for companionship or relationships.
Who else made the list?
Following India, Indonesia ranks second with 60,250 sugar daddies—a far lower count than the frontrunner. In third place, Malaysia and Japan are tied with 32,500 each, making them the only countries surpassing 30,000.
Other notable entries in the ranking include:
- Hong Kong – 28,300 sugar daddies
- Taiwan – 27,300 sugar daddies
- Vietnam – 12,000 sugar daddies
- South Korea – 8,000 sugar daddies
- Sri Lanka – 5,000 sugar daddies
- Cambodia – 3,500 sugar daddies

Where is the Philippines?
Despite its active dating culture and economic disparities, the Philippines failed to make the top 10, a surprising outcome considering its prominence in the global online dating scene.
Some speculate that Filipino culture, which values traditional relationships and close family ties, may contribute to the lower number of sugar dating arrangements compared to its Asian neighbors.
Additionally, many Filipinos seeking financial assistance from foreign partners may do so through other means, such as long-term relationships or online support, rather than formal sugar dating arrangements.
A decline in Malaysia’s sugar scene?
The latest numbers also indicate a decline in Malaysia’s sugar daddy count, dropping from 42,500 in 2021 to 32,500 in 2025.
This suggests either a shift in dating trends or a reduction in the visibility of sugar dating in the country.
Luxury dating on the rise
Seeking Arrangement, now rebranded as the world’s largest luxury dating platform, claims to have over 52 million members worldwide. The site promotes hypergamy, a concept where individuals seek relationships with those of higher socioeconomic status.
With India’s sugar dating scene booming and other Asian countries showing steady engagement, it remains to be seen how these dynamics will evolve in the coming years. Meanwhile, the Philippines continues buckling the trend, standing apart from its regional counterparts in this growing phenomenon.
