The Iloilo City government is asking residents to actively monitor gasoline prices and report any irregularities using the “Gas Station Concerns” feature in the eGovPH app.
The recommendation came during a meeting of the Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) convened by Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas on Tuesday.
The reporting tool was introduced by the Department of Energy (DOE) in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology to provide a faster and more accessible way for consumers to flag price concerns at fuel stations.
It supplements the DOE’s existing channels for public complaints, including its Facebook Messenger account, email, telephone hotline, and Hotline 8888.
Mayor Treñas said residents can report gas stations that overcharge or violate pricing rules on essential commodities through the eGovPH app’s e-report feature.
The council also discussed measures to strengthen price monitoring of basic and essential goods, including petroleum products and related items.
Members of the LPCC agreed to submit weekly monitoring reports every Friday to provide timely updates on market price conditions.
Officials said the program is intended to improve transparency, protect consumers, and encourage public participation in keeping fuel and essential commodity prices fair.
