The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) reported nearly ₱16 million worth of illegal drugs seized and 83 drug suspects arrested in August operations.
Based on ICPO’s report released Tuesday, 60 anti-drug operations led to the confiscation of about 2.3 kilos of suspected shabu valued at ₱15.9 million. Of those arrested, 35 were identified as high-value targets while 48 were street-level pushers.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit made the biggest seizure with 821.86 grams of shabu worth ₱5.58 million.
The August operations surpassed July’s figures, when 2.04 kilos of shabu valued at ₱13.89 million were seized in 72 operations.
“These accomplishments highlight the unified efforts of our police and the community against illegal drugs. With everyone’s commitment and cooperation, we will address this menace and win this war,” ICPO Director Col. Kim Legada said.
