‘I have never used drugs,’ Sandara Park breaks silence after Park Bom’s explosive accusation

The shocking feud rocking K-pop royalty just escalated. Former 2NE1 star Sandara Park has finally spoken out after bandmate Park Bom accused her of secretly using illegal drugs — a bombshell claim that stunned fans around the world.

In a brief but pointed statement posted on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Sandara firmly rejected the allegation that she had ever used illegal substances.

“I have never used drugs,” the singer declared.

Despite the controversy swirling around them, Sandara also offered a restrained message toward her former groupmate, who has recently faced public scrutiny over her health and past scandals.

“I wish her well,” she added.

The response came just hours after Park Bom’s shocking claim resurfaced online, reigniting a controversy tied to her infamous 2010 drug-smuggling case involving the medication Adderall.

But fans quickly noticed another dramatic development behind the scenes: Sandara no longer follows Park Bom on Instagram.

Sharp-eyed followers discovered that Bom’s account had vanished from Sandara’s following list shortly after the statement was posted — a move many interpreted as a quiet but unmistakable signal that tensions between the former 2NE1 members have reached a breaking point.

Adding to the intrigue, Park Bom’s own Instagram following list does not include Sandara either. At present, the singer reportedly follows only one account — that of South Korean superstar actor Lee Min Ho.

Even before Sandara personally addressed the accusation, people close to the singer had already dismissed Bom’s claims as baseless.

According to a report by Korean media outlet OSEN, a source close to Sandara said the allegations were “groundless” and linked the controversy to Park Bom’s current health condition.

“We only just became aware of the content. As you know, this happened due to Park Bom’s unstable health condition. We ask for your understanding,” the source said.

Park Bom has been largely absent from the public eye since August 2025, when her agency D-Nation Entertainment announced she would be taking a temporary hiatus from entertainment activities due to unspecified medical reasons.

The announcement followed months of online discussion about Bom’s unusual Instagram posts claiming she was in a romantic relationship with actor Lee Min Ho — something the actor’s agency quickly denied.

But the latest controversy erupted when Bom posted a handwritten message claiming she had been used as a scapegoat years ago.

In that letter, she insisted that the infamous drug scandal that damaged her career was exaggerated to protect someone else — naming Sandara as the person she alleged had actually been caught using illegal drugs.

“Sandara Park was caught for drug abuse, and to cover that up, they turned the medication into something labeled as a drug scandal involving me,” Bom wrote.

The singer also defended herself from long-standing accusations of drug abuse, saying the controversial medication at the center of her case was legally prescribed for her medical condition.

“It is not a drug. I am an ADD patient, something called Attention Deficit Disorder,” she wrote.

Bom added that speaking about the issue again terrified her because of the damage it could cause to her reputation.

“I really didn’t want to bring it up again. I’m afraid that even mentioning it on the news again would be a shortcut to ruining my reputation. At that time, I felt like I was dying… but now I am gathering the courage to speak.”

Her comments reignited discussion about the 2010 case in which authorities discovered a package containing 82 tablets of Adderall sent from the United States to South Korea via FedEx.

The shipment was intercepted by Customs at Incheon International Airport. While an investigation was launched by the Incheon District Prosecutors’ Office, the case was eventually suspended in November 2010.

Adderall, which contains amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, is prescribed in some countries to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. However, the psychotropic drug is prohibited in South Korea under existing regulations.

With Sandara now publicly denying the allegation and quietly distancing herself from Bom on social media, the explosive dispute between the two former bandmates has thrown one of K-pop’s most iconic groups back into the spotlight — this time under a cloud of controversy.
