Manila— HUAWEI has launched this year’s edition of the GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity. Through the art creation initiative, HUAWEI invites digital art creators to send in their imaginative pieces made with the GoPaint App, available exclusively on HUAWEI tablets.
The GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity highlights the limitless possibilities for creation on HUAWEI’s professional yet user-friendly painting tool.
This year, the theme for the activity is “Creative By Nature.”
Interested participants are encouraged to capture the beauty of nature and explore infinite possibilities using the GoPaint App and showcase their graphic, visual, and poster design skills.
More than a creative challenge, the global movement seeks to serve as a platform for creators to bring their visions to life using the GoPaint App. Supported by a vast network of flagship stores, educational institutions, and online communities from all over the world, the initiative seeks to collect over 10,000 entries from participants across the globe. Participants may submit entries for various categories including Sci-Fi Art, Design & Fashion, Narrative Art, Cutting Edge Paintings, and Digital Watercolor & Ink.
Submission of entries is open until December 31, 2024.
A selection panel will review the submitted entries for each region and select the top 100 entries. From the top 100, an expert jury panel will select the winning top 20 Honourable Mentions. Members of the jury panel include “The Mandalorian” and “Avatar: Way of the Water” Concept Artist John Park, Renowned Illustrator and Forbes Under 30 (Art and Style) Honoree Victo Ngai, “Avengers: Endgame” Senior Concept Artist Pablo Dominguez, and HUAWEI Milan Aesthetic Research Center Digital Creative Director Marco La Mantia.
Each of the 20 winners will receive a $1,000 cash prize, along with an array of honorary incentives, such as exhibition opportunities and media coverage that will further shine a spotlight on their creative talents. The winning entries will also be featured in well-loved apps, such as HUAWEI Themes wallpaper, or on HUAWEI merchandise which will be available to the brand’s global user base. The winners will be announced in 2025, along with an exhibition featuring the winning artworks.
Last year, two artworks by Filipino creatives made it to the Honourable Mention list. Creator Lanz Ambrosio’s entry, called “A Vintage Woman,” featured a woman, with a curious gaze, wearing a flower-embellished hat. The second Filipino-made piece was done by June Digan, titled “Celebrating the Year of the Dragon.”
