Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) is proud to announce that Takeshi Kobayashi has been appointed as its new president, effective April 2025.
Kobayashi has over 25 years of experience with Honda, having held key leadership roles across Japan and Europe. His deep expertise in the global motorcycle industry and sharp strategic insight are expected to help drive HPI to new success levels.
He began his career in 1999 at Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in the Human Resource Division, later moving into Domestic Motorcycle Sales in Japan. From there, he took on increasingly senior positions across Honda’s global operations. Notably, he played an important role in Honda Motor Europe Ltd., eventually overseeing Regional Motorcycle Operations in Europe.
Kobayashi then returned to Japan to lead global sales strategy for the Motorcycle Division. Most recently, he served as Director of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (2022–early 2025), where he helped achieve the highest sales volume among all Global Honda subsidiaries in the last fiscal year.
As he takes the helm at HPI, Kobayashi aims to build stronger connections with the Filipino riding community. His global experience will be key in introducing innovative solutions that meet the unique needs of Filipino riders—empowering everyday journeys, uplifting lives, and inspiring new dreams across the country.

He added, As we target over one million units in sales and production (including both internal combustion and electric vehicles), we aim to expand our market share and strengthen our Power Products Business. Our strategy includes launching exciting new models tailored for Filipino riders, supported by dynamic Above-The-Line (ATL) and Below-The-Line (BTL) marketing, along with top-notch customer service for both motorcycles and power products.”
