TANAUAN CITY, Batangas — Honda Philippines, Inc. marked a defining moment in its manufacturing journey with the Line-Off Ceremony of the Click125 New Model and its engine localization milestone at its Batangas facility, reinforcing its dominance as the country’s leading motorcycle manufacturer.

Led by HPI President Takeshi Kobayashi and attended by senior officials from Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and Honda R&D Southeast Asia, the ceremony underscored more than the launch of an upgraded model. It signaled a strategic leap in local production capability, operational flexibility, and long-term commitment to Filipino riders.

Engine localization represents a crucial shift for Honda’s Philippine operations, strengthening its ability to respond swiftly to market demand while maintaining global quality benchmarks. “The increase of localization initiative aims to promote flexibility. We must expand our capability to supply the increasing demand with the highest quality and innovative technology,” Kobayashi said.

The milestone builds on the remarkable performance of the Click125, a model that played a pivotal role in Honda Philippines’ historic 2025 results. The company surpassed the one-million-unit mark, posting 1,041,237 units in retail sales and 1,044,510 units in wholesale sales across all models — a testament to the brand’s enduring trust among Filipino consumers.

For many Filipino riders, the Click125 has become a dependable everyday partner — whether for commuting to work, attending school, managing deliveries, or running daily errands. The new model introduces a sharper, more stylish design, enhanced smart features, and the same reliable performance that has defined its market leadership. With the engine now localized, Honda strengthens its supply chain resilience while creating greater value within the Philippine manufacturing ecosystem.

The journey toward this milestone has been deliberate and progressive. In December 2022, Honda localized the Click125 frame assembly. Model refreshes followed in April 2024 and April 2025. By February 2026, engine localization completed the next phase of what the company calls its “Game Changer” evolution — a move that positions the brand for sustained growth as the Philippine motorcycle market continues to expand.

As demand accelerates nationwide, Honda Philippines is not merely increasing output; it is deepening its roots in local manufacturing excellence. The Click125 engine localization milestone affirms the company’s commitment to innovation, quality, and mobility solutions built for Filipino lifestyles — engineered to global standards, and now increasingly made in the Philippines.
