
TAYTAY, Rizal – Known for having one of the longest Christmas celebrations in the world, Filipinos usher in the busiest season of the year, most especially during Christmas with shoppers flocking in malls and tiangge for budget-friendly deals.
This December, last-minute holiday shoppers are encouraged to support and buy local, especially at Taytay Tiangge, where a wide range of budget-friendly and quality items from kids’ wear and fashionable clothing to curtains and textile products, are widely available.
According to Annie Francisco Rico, Taytay Public Information Officer, the local government continues to support the garments industry to ensure its growth and to help every Taytayeño garment workers and vendor benefit, allowing their livelihoods to thrive.
“As of now, we have 764 registered MSMEs in Taytay, along with 28 Taytay Tiangge Garments Centers and under the administration of Mayor Allan De Leon, we started a new branding initiative for our tiangge called “Made in Taytay.” Our goal is for it to become synonymous with quality garments that are also cost-effective,” Rico stated.
Prices vary depending on the items, starting at just P35, giving shoppers the opportunity to discover a wide selection by being wise and responsible consumers.
Shoppers can also enjoy great deals and discounts on bulk purchases, making it an ideal opportunity for those looking to save money this holiday season while staying in their Christmas budget.
Beyond promoting the town as a destination for budget-friendly, quality goods, Rico said the Taytay government assists garment workers and vendors in marketing their products through trade fairs and partnerships with other municipalities.
“We also bring our products to different towns. We had an exhibit at the SM Megatrade Hall, where we showcased Taytay-made products under the “Made in Taytay” brand. Recently, we also brought these products to SMX in Pampanga to further introduce our products. Sometimes, we also set up pop-up booths in various municipalities to sell and promote Taytay-made products,” Rico adds.
She then encouraged all consumers and last-minute Christmas shoppers to visit the town’s Christmas on Display, an animated show dedicated for Taytayeños and visitors alike located at the New Taytay Public Market. (PIA)
