Holiday aid given to 29 injured soldiers

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez brought holiday cheer to 29 injured soldiers at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center, easing their medical bills and alleviating financial burdens on their families with financial assistance to honor their service.

Romualdez stated that the financial aid was given to the wounded soldiers in recognition of their sacrifice and dedication to maintaining peace in the country.

“These brave men and women have given so much for our country, and it is only fitting that we extend our gratitude and assistance to help them during this season of giving,” he said.

Five out of the 29 soldiers, who sustained major injuries while on duty, received P100,000 in cash assistance. These soldiers were Staff Sgt. Rodel Buenavista (Philippine Marines), Sgt. Clint John Cuizon, Cpl. Ronbel Esporma, Cpl. Argie Son-oc, and Staff Sgt. Benjie Idmilao from the Philippine Army.

The remaining soldiers received P10,000 each in cash aid.

“This modest support is our way of showing appreciation for their heroism and to let them know that they are not alone in their recovery,” Romualdez said.

The House Speaker emphasized the significance of the sacrifices and challenges faced by members of the Armed Forces in defending the country.

Romualdez reassured the soldiers that their well-being remains a top priority for the government, which will continue to support them and their families.

The House Speaker concluded by extending his best wishes for their speedy recovery, affirming that their bravery and sacrifices will never be forgotten.
