The Philippine National Police – Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) seized P2 million worth of shabu from two suspects in an anti-carnapping checkpoint in Surallah, South Cotabato.
In a statement on Wednesday, PNP-HPG director, Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta, said the two suspects, whose names were withheld, were nabbed at about 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday along the national highway in Surallah town.
Matta said the suspects onboard a Suzuki Dzire sedan were flagged for initial violations of heavily tinted windows and the driver not wearing a seatbelt.
During inspection, police discovered six sachets containing shabu hidden in the vehicle.
The suspects are now under the custody of Surallah Municipal Police Station for documentation and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code) and RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). (PNA)
