
LEGAZPI CITY – The Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 (Bicol) reported on Saturday the arrest of a high-value individual and the seizure of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP1.7 million in an operation in Guinobatan, Albay.
Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Ger,” 30, a resident of Daraga, Albay, who was caught with two plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 251 grams on May 8.
The operation was spearheaded by the Guinobatan Municipal Police, in collaboration with the Provincial Intelligence Unit and the regional office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The arrested individual is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“This accomplishment is not just a victory for law enforcement but a triumph for every member of the community who desires peace and safety. We will remain vigilant and resolute in our mission to eradicate illegal drugs from our streets,” PRO-5 Director, Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, said in a statement. (PNA)
