Hanabishi Appliances continues to deepen its commitment to sustainable livelihoods for Filipino families as it once again partnered with K-COOP to roll out Project Karinderya in the last quarter of 2025, extending support to small, community-based eateries while helping address food security in vulnerable areas.
Through its Kapartner sa Kabuhayan advocacy, Hanabishi reinforced its role not just as an appliance brand but as a long-term partner of Filipino households.
“More than an appliance brand, Hanabishi is a trusted partner of Filipino families. We are one with organizations like K-COOP in looking for ways to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities to them, especially to the nanaypreneurs who need assistance in growing their karinderya business,” said Cherish Ong-Chua, Hanabishi vice president for finance and marketing.
The renewed collaboration builds on the partnership launched earlier in the year, when Hanabishi first distributed Karinderya Starter Kits to beneficiaries in August. In the final quarter of 2025, the initiative reached 30 karinderya owners across Rizal and Bulacan, enabling them to operate more efficiently while helping provide meals to 600 individuals daily over a 30-day period.
Each Karinderya Starter Kit was designed to meet the practical needs of small food businesses. The package included essential Hanabishi appliances such as electric fans, gas stoves or oven toasters, rice cookers or pressure cookers, water dispensers or hand mixer-blenders, and either a coffee maker or airpot—tools intended to improve both productivity and service quality at the grassroots level.
Beyond equipment support, Project Karinderya ensures a steady income for participating karinderya owners through a ₱60-per-day meal subsidy for 30 days, redeemable by community beneficiaries at partner eateries.
The program prioritizes seniors, persons with disabilities, pregnant and lactating mothers, and low-income families, creating a cycle that supports both livelihood and nutrition.
Participants also undergo training and capability-building sessions focused on food safety, nutrition, and customer service, while health cadets and monitoring teams oversee compliance with quality and safety standards. This integrated approach helps strengthen small food enterprises while safeguarding community well-being.
