The southwest monsoon was back to drench parts of Luzon on Tuesday, bringing cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms to several northern and central provinces, Pagasa said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the habagat continued to affect the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.
Pagasa said the monsoon was expected to dump rains over the Ilocos region, Zambales, Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands, with thunderstorms also likely in those areas.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon were not spared from gloomy weather, although conditions were expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy with only isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The Visayas and Mindanao were also forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with thunderstorms more likely to develop in the afternoon or evening.
Despite the wet weather, Pagasa said it had not raised any gale warning over the country’s coastal waters.
Still, the agency cautioned fisherfolk and operators of small vessels to be careful, especially in Northern Luzon, where rough sea conditions could still pose risks.
Pagasa said no low-pressure area or tropical cyclone was being monitored inside or near the Philippine area of responsibility.
