The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will provide technology packages and essential learning materials worth ₱12 million to 30 public schools across the country under its Adopt-a-School Program (ASP).
The program aims to improve learning conditions, particularly in underserved and remote communities, by supplying resources that support both online and in-person instruction.
GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said the initiative is intended to “create tangible opportunities for students,” especially in indigenous and far-flung areas.
Starting in 2024, each of the 30 schools will receive a ₱400,000 package containing information and communications technology equipment, furniture, and appliances tailored to their needs.
The GSIS will oversee procurement and delivery to ensure the equipment reaches the designated schools.
Since its launch in 2014, the program has supported 195 schools nationwide, spending ₱64.6 million on laptops, printers, furniture, infrastructure repairs, and other learning resources.
Two schools in Mindanao have also received solar panel installations as part of the program’s sustainability efforts.
The Adopt-a-School Program is part of GSIS’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, which include employee volunteerism through the annual Brigada Eskwela.
