The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has launched a nationwide emergency loan program for active members and pensioners following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s declaration of a state of national calamity due to Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi), and in anticipation of the incoming severe tropical storm Fung-Wong.
GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said the initiative aims to deliver immediate financial relief to affected public workers and retirees.
“As our kababayans reel from the wide devastation of Typhoon Tino and as we brace for more calamities due to La Niña, the rapid financial relief for our public sector workers and retirees becomes more critical,” Veloso said.
Qualified active members may borrow up to PHP20,000, or renew and borrow up to PHP40,000 if they have existing emergency loans, while old-age and disability pensioners may also apply if at least 25 percent of their monthly pension remains after deductions.
Eligible members must be in active service, not on unpaid leave, have at least three premium payments in the last six months, no pending administrative or criminal case, and maintain a minimum take-home pay of PHP5,000.
Applications will be accepted from Nov. 7, 2025, to Feb. 7, 2026, through the GSIS Touch mobile app for faster processing.
The loan is payable in 36 equal monthly installments at an interest rate of 6 percent per annum.
