Government officials are urging farmers in Northern Mindanao to adopt modern agricultural technologies to improve crop yields amid changing weather patterns.
Evy Elago of the Misamis Oriental Agriculture Office said innovations like smart irrigation systems, rainwater harvesting, and water-efficient techniques can boost productivity while conserving water—an essential resource in farming.
Larry Franada of the National Irrigation Administration Region 10 also encouraged farmers to report any irrigation issues immediately so they can be resolved quickly. He emphasized that timely solutions are key to avoiding delays in farming operations.
The initiative is part of the government’s effort to modernize agriculture and strengthen support for local farmers facing environmental and economic challenges.
