Google Labs has expanded access to Pomelli, an experimental AI-powered marketing tool that could reshape how micro, small, and medium enterprises promote themselves online. For Philippine MSMEs, which make up more than 99 percent of all business establishments, the platform arrives as a timely and potentially game-changing solution to one of their biggest challenges: producing polished, on-brand marketing materials without the cost of hiring a creative agency.

Small businesses remain the backbone of the Philippine economy, with data from the Department of Trade and Industry showing that they account for more than 60 percent of total employment. Yet despite their vital role, many Filipino entrepreneurs, technopreneurs, and neighborhood merchants still struggle to build and sustain a strong digital presence. Limited budgets, lack of design expertise, and the pressure to constantly create content often make online marketing an uphill battle.

Pomelli aims to change that by turning a business website into a ready-made marketing engine. Powered by Google’s advanced AI and developed in collaboration with DeepMind, the tool analyzes a company’s public website and transforms it into a full marketing kit tailored to the brand’s identity.

At the heart of the platform is what Pomelli calls a business’s “DNA.” By simply entering a website URL, the AI scans the site and identifies its visual style, including color palette, typography, and tone of voice. The result is a brand profile that helps ensure consistency across platforms, whether it is for a neighborhood café in Cebu, an online fashion seller in Quezon City, or a specialty food brand in Davao.

From there, Pomelli can generate campaign concepts and ready-to-use creative materials in under a minute. These include social media captions and visuals optimized for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, giving business owners a faster and more accessible way to maintain an active online presence.

Beyond speed, Pomelli addresses a common pain point for many entrepreneurs: creative block. For solo founders and small teams juggling multiple responsibilities, producing fresh, engaging content on a regular basis can be difficult. By simplifying the creative process, the tool allows business owners to focus more on growth while scaling their marketing from a single storefront to a wider national audience.

Its rollout comes at a crucial time. As the Philippines accelerates digitalization and e-commerce adoption, the ability to create professional digital content is no longer just an advantage but an essential part of staying competitive. Tools like Pomelli could help level the playing field by making digital advertising and brand-building more accessible to smaller enterprises.

With the country’s digital economy expected to hit major growth milestones by 2030, Pomelli may offer Filipino MSMEs a practical way to capture more of that opportunity. While still experimental, the free-to-use platform signals how AI could become an increasingly important partner for local businesses looking to build their brands, reach new customers, and compete in a fast-evolving online marketplace.

Pomelli is currently available through Google Labs. Filipino business owners can try the tool for free by visiting labs.google/pomelli and entering their public website URL.
