For the second straight month, Meralco customers have something to smile about—lower electricity bills!
This June, the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has reduced its overall power rates by P0.1076 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), bringing the new rate down to P12.1552 per kWh for a typical household.
According to Meralco vice president and head of corporate communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga, the continued drop is mainly due to a lower generation charge, which translates to real savings for consumers.
“Our customers will continue to benefit from lower power rates this month mainly due to lower
generation charge. A typical household consuming 200 kWh will see a decrease of around P22 in
their total electricity bill for June,” Zaldarriaga said.
