Two gold traders lost over P613,000 in cash and mobile phones to three armed robbers in Cainta, Rizal on Sunday, according to a Police Regional Office (PRO) 4A report.
Jezzel Marie Corullo and Eugenio Arcilla were contacted by a suspect named “John” through Facebook, who offered to sell them jewelry worth P567,000. The two agreed to meet him at a resort in Barangay San Juan for the transaction.
At around 4:20 p.m., as negotiations began, the suspect and two accomplices suddenly pulled out weapons and robbed the victims.
Authorities said the robbers made off with P613,600 in cash and five mobile phones valued at P99,000 before fleeing on motorcycles.
The victims later identified the suspects from police files. Authorities have launched a manhunt to capture the robbers.
