Globe once again took center stage in the country’s growing tech ecosystem with the third Globe Developers Conference (DevCon), held on October 9 at The Globe Tower. The full-day celebration brought together more than a thousand developers, engineers, and innovators united by a single mission—to harness the power to create.

What began as an internal tech showcase has evolved into a national movement. DevCon 2025 spotlighted AI-powered innovation and human creativity—where algorithms meet empathy and code meets purpose. This year’s theme, “Harnessing the Power to Create,” captured Globe’s belief that technology’s greatest value lies in its ability to uplift lives.

“Developers are the builders of the future,” said Globe Chief Information Officer Raul Macatangay. “Through DevCon, we create an environment where talent, technology, and purpose converge. Innovation doesn’t just happen in labs—it happens when people come together to solve real problems for real people.”

Organized by Globe’s Information Services Group (ISG), the event featured live demos, fireside chats, and solution showcases from Globe and its portfolio companies including Asticom, Brave Connective, and Yondu. The lineup offered attendees a firsthand look at how AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity innovations are shaping Globe’s transformation into a full-fledged digital platform company.

Speakers and panelists—including Keith Batallones, Noel Carpio, Mark Gesite, Paolo Santos, and Mumshad Mannambeth, founder and CEO of KodeKloud—shared insights on scaling intelligent systems, integrating AI responsibly, and empowering the next generation of Filipino engineers.

The spotlight also turned to individuals who embody the spirit of technical mastery and innovation. Among them was Neil Daryl Sulit, one of only three Kubestronauts in the Philippines—and the only one from Globe.

Kubestronauts are elite professionals who have achieved all Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Kubernetes certifications, proving deep expertise in administration, development, security, and cloud-native design. This rare distinction places Sulit and Globe’s engineering team among the ranks of experts capable of running the same advanced systems that power tech giants like Google and Netflix.

From cloud-native architecture to AI-driven problem-solving, DevCon 2025 served as a launchpad for fresh ideas and meaningful collaborations. It showcased how Globe’s technology community continues to redefine connectivity—not just through faster networks, but through shared innovation and human-centric design.

“We see DevCon not just as a conference, but as a launchpad for possibility,” Macatangay said. “By empowering our developers to experiment, collaborate, and innovate responsibly, Globe is shaping a digital future that builds with purpose—and creates with heart.”
